To Nothing
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
The world is ending, and there's nothing to do about it. A "reverse metroidvania" puzzle game where you sacrifice all your actions to win.
There is a way to lose all your actions. Maybe something about a countdown...
If the game starts without assets (music/models), please try getting them from our github and launching the game from the root directory. 😅
Controls (at first)
WASD - roll [W] in direction you’re facing [A] left [S] back [D] right
QEX - spin [Q] left [E] right [X] 180 degrees
ZC - slide [Z] left [C] right
space - wait 1 turn
R - reset
F - add 10 turns (if you really want to experience more but don't have the time or want to play more casually. note that this game is designed for several replays though, with an Outer Wilds-style looping knowledge-based progression)
Terrain
This game has a number of terrain types
- Altar (purple blocks) - sacrifice yourself here by moving on to lose a skill (important to do so!)
- Regular ground - you can move on here
- Void - you cannot move on here
- Wall - you can roll or slide against this and rotate, but you won't move
- Arrow - stepping here will rotate you to face the arrow's direction. rotates on mechanisms and timers
- Conveyor - will move you in indicated direction on next turn before your move. reverses on mechanisms and timers
- Pressure plate - activates gates, turns arrows and bridges, starts timers...
- Face-id - like a pressure plate, but needs you facing it to activate
- Gate - can open and close based on mechanisms and timers
- Collapsing bridges - can collapse on mechanisms and timers
